We are currently hiring an experienced OD Machine Operator for a precision grinding company in Addison, IL.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual and/or CNC OD grinding machines, be comfortable reading blueprints, and have strong experience using precision measuring tools.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Pay: $18.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Available Start Times:
  • 4:00 AM–12:30 PM
  • 5:00 AM–1:30 PM
  • 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
  • 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate CNC, N/C, and manual OD grinding machines
• Set up and operate grinding equipment according to job specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and technical drawings
• Verify finished-part dimensions using:
  • Micrometers
  • Dial indicators
  • Gauge blocks
  • Calipers
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications
• Monitor machine performance and production rates
• Identify and report safety, quality, machine, or productivity issues
• Complete production and inspection paperwork accurately
• Follow all company safety procedures and standard operating procedures
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and managers
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements

• Previous manual and/or CNC OD grinding experience required
• Experience with Mitsubishi, Studer, or Toyoda machines is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience using analog micrometers and calipers
• Metrology experience is a plus
• Basic math skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to periodically lift heavy objects
• Reliable and punctual
• Must be willing to work overtime, including occasional early starts, late stays, and weekends
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Steel-toe or composite-toe non-slip shoes required
• Uniforms and safety glasses provided by the client
