JOB PURPOSE
The Quality Technician Level I is responsible for ensuring raw materials, components, subassemblies,
and finished products meet the required quality standards and specifications as
defined by the blueprint and inspection instructions. This position plays a critical role in
upholding Sloan’s commitment to delivering high-quality products by conducting thorough
inspections and collaborating to address quality concerns.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Operate Brown & Sharpe and Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs),
and display basic proficiency with PC-DMIS software, ensuring accurate
measurements and reports.
*Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height
gauges, and indicators to perform detailed inspections.
*Execute inspections and verify results per blueprint and inspection instructions.
*Support First Article, in-process, and final inspections.
*Develop basic programs for visons systems and CMM's with approval and oversight
of the lead technician.
*Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production,
and Supply Chain, to resolve quality issues and optimize manufacturing processes.
*Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while practicing 5S
methodologies.
*Support other QC Inspectors with basic inspection tasks as needed and assigned.
*Perform basic probe calibrations and assist in equipment upkeep.
*Other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
*High School Diploma or GED
*2+ Years Experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment.
Demonstrates clear, professional, and respectful verbal and written communication
in all interactions, consistent with an inclusive work environment.
Basic computer skills & experience with MS Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook and
Minitab.
*Basic hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and
working proficiency with PC-DMIS software.
*Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation.
*In-depth experience with first article inspections, non-conformance reporting, and
in-process auditing.
*Working knowledge of the use of precision measuring instruments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
*Vocational / Technical Degree Program Completion
*Technical training or certification in quality, manufacturing, or engineering
