Our client, a family-owned, stable and growing metal parts manufacturing company with facilities in Villa Park and Bensenville is adding an experienced Maintenance Technician to their team.
This is a DIRECT HIRE position, so you will not have to work as a temporary worker. If you are hired for this role, you will be hired directly to the company.
Hours:
1st Shift- 7am to 3pm or 4pm, depending on workload.
What you can realistically expect::
You will most likely work between 50-60. You might work 8, 9 or 10 hour shifts Monday through Friday, or possibly 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday plus some weekend hours. Your hours will be based on production schedule (which is currently straight 40 hours., but fluctuates due to customer needs, projects, etc.)
What will you be doing all day:
This position will be approximately 75-85% machinery troubleshooting and repair and 25-35% facility maintenance/capital improvement projects.
You will use your well-rounded skills with machinery maintenance to troubleshoot and repair Mechanical and Pneumatic, Electrical and Hydraulic issues.
Use your basic computer skills to pull work tickets, document repairs, order parts, research machinery and manuals.
You will be working with a small team that will include Maintenance Manager and Maintenance helper--and between the three of you, resolving all unexpected and expected machinery breakdowns in 2 buildings.
Responsibilities:
Hit the ground running doing troubleshooting and repair of industrial manufacturing machinery.
What you should realistically expect:
75% work independently on reactive troubleshooting and repair to get production machinery up and running in a timely manner.
When time permits, perform planned/scheduled preventive maintenance.
A busy manufacturing facility with mostly newer machinery, some older machinery and some manual machinery including:
- Manual and CNC lathes
- Manual and CNC mills
- Grinders
- Saws
Primarily use your skills and experience with:
- Mechanical troubleshooting/repair
- Pneumatic troubleshooting/repair
- Electrical troubleshooting/repair (you can learn a great deal of electrical from the Maintenance Manager)
- Hydraulic troubleshooting/repair
25% work independently on facility/building maintenance including:
- Special projects
- Capital improvement activities.
- Continuous improvement initiatives.
Use your computer skills to:
- Pull work orders/mark work orders complete and document repairs in computer software for maintenance called SMARTSHEET
- Use internet resources to research parts, repair methods, etc.
Use various tools:
- Your own
- Company provided tools.
Compensation:
Will be based on experience level, previous job longevity, skills and hands-on knowledge of manufacturing machinery maintenance.
What you can realistically expect: Annual salary based upon working 50-60 hours per week. Discretionary Quarterly Bonuses based on company profits.

This is an ITAR facility that manufactures parts for military and aerospace, so US Citizenship or Green Card holder employment status is required.
3-5 years or more of industrial machinery troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to speak, read and communicate in English.
Good job longevity at previous positions--not a lot of short-term positions or job hopping.
Basic set of your own tools and toolbox.
Valid drivers' license and vehicle to travel between two facilities, approximately 2 miles apart, as needed.
