Job Description

Our client, a growing manufacturing company located in the western suburbs of Chicago, is seeking skilled CNC Machinists (with set-up and programming experience) to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with CNC set-up and programming experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Location: Western Suburbs of Chicago, IL
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay range: $24-$38/hr. Depending on experience
Current Openings/Shifts:
  • 2nd shift –2:30pm – 11:00pm
  • Split shift –10:00 am – 6:30pm

Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC machines to produce high-quality components.
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and program adjustments.
  • Modify machine offsets and troubleshoot production issues as needed.
  • Read work instructions and ensure parts meet quality specifications.
  • Inspect materials, finished products, and equipment using precision measuring tools.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Assist with training new team members in machine operation, safety procedures, and company standards.
  • Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, and Production departments to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Provide machine coverage during operator breaks when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of CNC machining or CNC operator experience
  • CNC machine setup experience
  • Basic CNC programming knowledge
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret production documents and follow manufacturing procedures
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Forklift certification or the ability to become certified
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous ERP system experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout an 8-hour shift
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with changing production priorities
