Job Description
Our client is a leading manufacturing company specializing in wire forms, springs, and light metal stampings for various applications. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality products to our clients and are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Technician/Programmer to join their team in Chicago.
Job Description: We are currently seeking a CNC Setup Technician/Programmer with expertise in operating and setting up Multi-Slide #35 machines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up tooling, adjusting equipment, and programming the Multi-Slide 35 machine to produce parts according to customer specifications. This role requires a high level of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during production runs.
Responsibilities:
- Set up tooling and adjust equipment on the to produce wire forms, springs, and light metal stampings.
- Verify size and type of raw material per routing, using micrometers or dial calipers.
- Interpret blueprints, gauges, load testers, and visual inspection tools to ensure parts meet customer specs.
- Submit first pieces for approval and perform capability studies following ISO/TS 16949 work instructions.
- Identify and address any defects or issues during production runs.
- Prevent damage to equipment, processes, or materials.
- Adhere to company safety rules and procedures at all times.
- Complete daily labor, production, and quality documents accurately.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3-12 months of related experience in CNC setup and programming.
- Experience with Multi-Slide 35 machines strongly preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret complicated drawings.
- Proficiency in math including decimals and fractions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with other team members.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
