Our client, a leader in commercial construction and mechanical services, is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join their team in Aurora, IL.

Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 2 years’ previous experience in a general accounting role.
Salary range: $55,000 - $70,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm on site/in-office (please note this role is not hybrid/remote)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and reconcile journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP. Maintain the integrity of general ledger accounts through routine reviews and adjustments as needed.
- Support the monthly close process by preparing supporting schedules, reconciling accounts, and assisting with variance analysis and close documentation.
- Work closely with project managers and operations personnel to ensure accurate job costing and proper financial entries across departments.
- Assist the accounting team with ongoing tasks and projects that support operational accuracy and timely financial close.
- Organize and maintain electronic documentation of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for audit readiness and internal reference.
- Contribute ideas for process or system improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, or team workflows.
- Provide support during high-volume periods such as budget planning, year-end close, or financial audits.
