POSITION TITLE: Logistics Material Handler
LOCATION: Hanover Park and Glendale Heights, IL
REPORTS TO: Materials Supervisor
Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Materials Supervisor, support distribution (international and domestic) of finished goods. Logistics Material Handler III performs all tasks associated with shipping process and finished goods inventory to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Process orders for shipment.
- Assist in arranging pick-up for domestic and export freight and allocating and print daily work orders.
- Assist in validating work order accuracy prior to shipping.
- Serve as backup for shipping coordinator.
- Execute picks for outbound shipment.
- Pack, load and unload a variety of conveyances.
- Conduct audits for Inventory, 5S and Safety. "
Move material within the warehouse and manufacturing plant. " Operate power industrial equipment (ex. Stand-up, sit-down and order picker forklift trucks). " Validate order accuracy prior to final packaging. " Complete daily inspections and record any unsafe conditions on power industrial equipment. " Operate RF Smart scanner. " Problem solve issues that arise using root cause counter measures. " Must be able to work independently and also with team. " Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by work area, such as safety glasses, gloves and steel toe shoes. " Must follow all standard work procedures. " Must follow all established company SAFETY policies and demonstrate safe work practices. " Must be able to identify unsafe conditions and report them to department team leader, supervisor, manager or Safety Coordinator. " Deal with complexity in a fast pace manufacturing environment. " Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements: " Minimum 2 years' experience in Logistics Material Handler role or similar function " OSHA approved forklift license, required " Basic knowledge of JDE System and Kanban principles, preferred " Lift frequently 5-35 lbs and infrequently 35-50 lbs and " Must be able to stand for entire shift " Basic computer skills, ability to work in MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) " Basic English communication skills (read, write and speak) " Basic knowledge of LEAN techniques, preferred " Basic distribution knowledge " Ability to work overtime on a regular basis " Excellent attendance Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent.
