Machine Equipment Operator I Summary: This position is responsible for the basic setup, operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment in order to produce according to quality specifications in an efficient and safe manner.
" Performs duties to set up and operate a variety of in-lined equipment to cold head or thread roll and point (mill or forge) a variety of fasteners. Consistently run machines independently under normal circumstances to meet production standard rates while maintaining a high level of quality and low scrap. " Proficiently maintain machinery through preventive maintenance; lubrication, cleaning and replacement of parts with the use of wrenches, tools, calipers, and gauges. " Perform all quality checks according to MIIs and quality specifications sheets. Track and document quality checks and scrap for assigned equipment as required. " Follow all prescribed safety/housekeeping practices and procedures. Identify and tag safety hazards on machinery and in work area. Perform 5-S activities and improvements as required. In addition, track machine downtime per shift. " Work with other team members and participates in team events and meetings. " This position may be assigned other duties as needed to support plant and to meet customer needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to grip, grasp, reach, push and pull with hands and arms, walk, stand, speak and listen. Occasionally climb, kneel, bend, and sit. The employee must frequently lift, push and pull 5-25 pounds and occasionally lift, push and pull up 25-50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required by this position to include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
"High School Diploma / GED. "Must be able to work up to 40 hours with occasional overtime, no greater than 12 hours/day. "Ability to understand basic machinery. Less than a year of manufacturing experience including setup, operate, changeover, use of measurement tools and knowledge of preventive maintenance preferred. "Ability to work in a team environment. "Ability to recognize and identify parts, problems, and offer resolution. "Ability to read blueprints / specification sheets and follow instructions. "Successfully complete supplemental training (i.e. blueprint reading, technical math, and measurement tools)
