Job Description
Our client, a small manufacturing facility located in Franklin Park, IL, is hiring and experienced,
well-rounded, dependable and reliable Manufacturing Machinery Maintenance Mechanic.
15000 Sq. Ft facility with mechanical and electrical machinery used in a glass coating process.
Object of this position is to maintain machinery in a proactive manner and keep replacement and spare parts on hand to avoid production shutdowns.
Maintenance Mechanic Job Description
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, compressors, electrical parts, vacuum machinery, chillers.
- Perform some basic facility maintenance.
- May be asked to spread salt or shovel front entrance before the snow removal crew arrives. .
- There is a small shop area where you can weld, fabricate parts if you have the ability.
- Responsible for ordering parts and keeping them in stock, so basic computer skills to be able to research prices, availability, etc.
- You will be trained on the specific processes by an experienced maintenance mechanic who will be retiring soon.
Compensation will be based on experience in the $25/hr. to $35/hr range plus nice benefits, including medical, dental and 401K with match.
Should have well-rounded skills with taking apart and fixing things, willingness to get dirty, go onto roof to check chillers and air conditioning unit, etc.
Great position for someone who can learn from the person who will be retiring, has good common sense when it comes to repairing things and a willingness to be a general fix-it person.
If you are looking for a steady career with a very nice, small (21 employees) company in a job that will keep you busy, but not overwhelmed, this is a great opportunity.
Medium paced environment.
If you have your own basic tools it would be helpful. Company will authorize you to purchase other tools needed to perform repairs.
Job Requirements
- Well-rounded experience with manufacturing machinery maintenance.
- Willingness and ability to perform some facility maintenance.
- Some fabrication/welding experience a huge plus.
- Spanish language skills a plus, but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, crawl under machinery.
- Excellent work ethic.
- Ability to get to work on time, every day.
- Willingness to get dirty.
- Mechanical inclination--previous experience working with tools, on cars or with machinery
- Good manual dexterity to work with hands
- Interest in taking things apart and putting them back together.
